Summer Reading
The 2010 Summer Reading List, books, and study guides have been finalized, effective June 7.
All students are expected to read and complete any study guides for each assigned book. If there is a study guide for a book, there is a link from the book title. If there is not a study guide, you should take notes on the book and be prepared for an assessment during the first week of school. Additionaly, there may be course guides with links from the course title.
For assignments involving the study guides, the following academic policies are in force:
- Copying another’s work: Honesty and integrity are expected of all students at all times. Students are expected to submit their own work on all assignments unless given explicit instructions to the contrary by a teacher. Copying is defined as giving or gaining an unfair advantage for yourself or others and is a serious offense. Both parties are equally guilty and will receive the same penalty. (Action: Saturday School or suspension and a grade of zero on the assignment. For habitual copying, students are liable for expulsion.)
- Plagiarism: Plagiarism is defined as the use of another person’s work and failing to give appropriate credit. This is a serious violation of academic integrity and can result in both an academic and behavioral penalty. (Action: Saturday School or suspension and a grade of zero on the assignment. For habitual plagiarism, students are liable for expulsion.)
Note: you must read each and every book for the course you are taking.
