Softball at St. Augustine Catholic High School is a popular sport!
St. Augustine Catholic High School players gained publicity through great accomplishments. Over the last five years, the softball team has placed four players on the first team All-Southern Arizona team for 1A-3A schools.
SACHS was the smallest school represented on the 2006 All-Southern Arizona team, yet placed more players on the team than schools with 1,000+ students. In 2007, the SACHS program celebrated the first student-athlete in school history to receive an athletic scholarship to play college softball when Carly Bradford, (Class of 2007) was signed by Gateway College in Phoenix, AZ.
Girls Softball is coached by Bill Moten who has coached high school softball for 13 years. Assistant Coach Don Bradford has been with St. Augustine Catholic since 2003. Coach Moten has been a part of two state championship teams, one state runner-up team, one state semi-final team, and 3 regional championship teams. Coach Moten spent two years as the head softball coach at Pima College, securing the first winning season in 8 years!
